No. 10 - Mattanawcook sophomore Tia Tardy runs 3rd fastest 800m in state history, 2:14.24

Sophomore Tia Tardy of Mattanawcook Academy blistered the 800m at a regular season meet at Hampden on May 14th as she clocked a new personal best 2:14.24, the mark was the fastest in the state during the 2015 outdoor season and moved her to the third fastest individual in state history.

Tardy's time now sits only behind the state all-time best set a year ago by Aleta Looker 2:11.31, and the 2:13.50 by Erzsbet Nagy.

Tia would go on to win the 800m championship in the Class C state meet for the second consecutive season clocking a state meet record of 2:16.34. She would go on to finish 5th in the New England Championship running her second fastest time of her life a 2:14.33.
