Tell us how your summer training is going?

My summer training went good. I had a bit of a rough start because I had hurt my knee hiking. Once I got over that it just went uphill from there.

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

My main goal for this Cross Country is to improve my times from last year and to help get my team to New Englands.

How long have you been running and how did you get started?

I started running my 8th grade year. I began with Track and since then I've loved running. The reason I started running was because my siblings were runners and I wanted to try it out.

What's a typical training week like?

My summer training was 50 to 60 miles a week. It consisted of double runs, hill repeats, and 400 repeats on the track. Now that pre-season has started I've switched over to my coach's training regimen.

What is your favorite workout?

My favorite workout would have to be timed hill repeats on a hill called Mountain View in Gray. The hill is 1.4 miles uphill and the point of the workout is to go as fast as possible up the hill. I do it multiple times.

What is your favorite course to run in Maine?

It's a toss up between my home course, The Brothers in Alfred, and Belfast.

What is the toughest course to run in Maine?

To me, the hardest course would have to be my home course, The Brothers in Alfred.

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

My biggest accomplishment in my running career would have to be proving that people with asthma can run fast.

What do you love most about running?

The feeling you get after finishing a race.

When you are not running what is your favorite thing to do?

Sleep, eat, play video games, and hang out with my friends.

Do you have any pre-race rituals or routines?

When I'm on the starting line I usually tap both of the tips of my shoes against the ground.

Favorite quote?

I have 2 quotes. One is from my coach, T.J. Hesler, and the other is from my grandfather, Edwin Sprague.

"It's a beautiful day to run," T.J Hesler.

"Don't worry, just run your race," Edwin Sprague.

What was the last movie you saw and what did you think of it?

The last movie I saw was Baywatch. I thought it was really funny and I enjoyed it a lot.

What shoes do you race/train in?

I train in the Zoom Structures 20, and race in the Saucony Kilkenny XC 5.

What professional athlete would you most like to meet?

I would like to meet Ben Roethlisberger.

What is something that most people don't know about you?

Most people on my team know this but others do not. I have asthma.

Lastly, if you were stranded on an island with three things what would they be?

If I were stranded on an island I would bring consumables, clothes, and a survival kit.
