I would definitely have to say SMAA championships this past season. Earning a regional title in the 3200 had been a goal of mine all year and it was extra rewarding to do it against an incredibly strong field.
Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?
Alec Troxell, Aiden Willey, Anthony Chase, Ethan Eikmann and the Kaiser twins.
What was your greatest accomplishment?
Either winning an SMAA title or breaking 9:50 in the 3200 at states.
If you could do it all over again what would you change about your xc/track&field career in high school?
I would dedicate myself to consistent mileage sooner.
What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
Losing Coach Fulford took a lot out of me mentally. It made racing and training really hard for a long time.
What will you miss the most?
Pre meet and post practice rituals with the Biddeford distance boys.
What advice you would give to younger athletes?
Just run.
What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?
I don't think it's possible to articulate the impacts Coach Fulford, Taxia and Coach Quint have had. Instead I'll just say thank you once again.
What are your college plans?
I will be majoring in marketing at The University of Maine. I'll also be running track and xc for the Black Bears!
Who would you like to say thank you to?
My coach's, my family and the Maine running community.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
'Sko bears!
