WATCH 800m Time Trial - Folley, Kezal & Langstaff
Three of the states top 800m runners squared off in an 800m time trial at the Gorham high school track this evening. Recent South Portland graduate and Class A indoor 800m champion Anna Folley matched up with 2019 Class A outdoor champion Mia-Claire Kezal of Thornton Academy a rising junior, and recent Windham High School grad Hannah Langstaff.
It was a great battle with Folley setting the pace through 400m in 71 seconds. Langstaff challenged for the lead down the backstretch with Kezal biding her time. Folley wouldn't let anyone by and led into the final straight, Kezal found another gear with 50 meters to go and there was a photo finish at the line.
The final times were 2:21.30 for Folley and Kezal with Langstaff at 2:24.
