Freeport boys upset #4 Cape on their home course 27-33. Taylor Saucier (Freeport) 17:52 holds off Thomas Bottomley (Cape) 17:56 & teammate Nick Sweet 17:56

Catherine Tierney (Cape) wins again covering the 5k course in 20:48 for a 51 second victory over Ciera Wentworth (Freeport) 21:39. #6 Cape wins easily

 

 

 

WMC: Falmouth, GNG @ Merriconeag

Meet Results

#2 Falmouth Boys cruise with 8 of the first 10 finishers. Tim Follo (Fal) 17:08 sets a course record winning by 4 seconds over Merriconeag's Jack Pierce 17:12. Will Shafer (GNG) 17:38 finishes 3rd.

Falmouth girls edge Merriconeag 28-30 in a close team race. Merriconeag's Zoe Chace-Donahue wins handily in 22:17 (CR) over Falmouth's Molly Paris 22:40

#7 NYA boys take down #3 Greely in a early season showdown.  Cam Regan (NYA) wins on his home course covering the 3 miles in 16:44. Stefan Sandreuter (Greely) finishes 2nd just 8 seconds back 16:52

Greely girls take the victory 22-46 (NYA)-68(Poland). Kirstin Sandreuter (Greely) continues her domination in 2011 with a 19:07 finishing time, over a minute faster than Kristin Smith (Pol) 20:16

 

 

 

WMC: Sacopee Valley, Yarmouth, York @ Fryeburg

Meet Results

Silas Eastman (Fryeburg) opens up with a 16:42 win over 5k on his home course, his time wasd 1:06 better than runner-up Mitchell Finitz (York) 17:48.  #8 ranked York wins the team race with an 18:08 average

#10 York girls wins easily. Heather Evans (York) 21;39 holds off a valiant effort from Sarah Becker (Yarmouth) 21:48 for the win over 5k.

SMAA: TA, Bonny Eagle, Noble @ Portland

Meet Results

Portland's Ben Allen covers the 3 mile course in 18:04 for a 43 second win over teammate Dexter Morse 18:47. Portland tallies just 26 for the win

Bonny Eagle girls holds off Portland in a tight race 39-40. Thornton Academy's Charlotte Pierce dominates the 3 mile course in 19:48 with 2nd place going to Samantha Cox (BE) 21:32

 

 

SMAA: South Portland, Scarborough @ Massabesic

Meet Results

#1 ranked Scarborough boys make a statement with a 24-45 win over #6 ranked South Portland. The Red Storm put 5 guys in front of SP's #2 runner. Individually Nick Morris (Scar) showed top form with his 17:19 clocking over the difficult 5k course. Massabesic's Cody Vachon was the runner-up in 17:53

Massabesic's Gabbi Johnson took home the win on the girls side 21:53 which was 45 seconds better than Nyajock Pan (South Portland). #4 ranked Massabesic cruised despite Jocelyn Acheson collapsing in the last 400 meter of the race.

 

 

SMAA: Sanford, Gorham @Cheverus

Meet Results

National Elite Performances

#1 ranked Cheverus girls take spots 1-5 for a perfect score. Cheverus's averages 20:19 for 5k.  Emily Durgin cranks a 18:30 for 5k win

Cheverus boys had an impressive showing taking spots 2-6th for an easy win. Bryant Perkins (Sanford) 17:48 took the race with Lukas Temple (Chev) in 2nd 18:13

 

 

SMAA: McAuley, Biddeford @ Windham

Meet Results

Biddeford's Cam Nadeau covered the 2.9 mile course in 17:09 while Windham's Keegan Breenan was 2nd in 17:28, Breenan led his Eagles team to the victory.

#4 ranked Windham girls took down a strong McAuley team 24-34. Individually Talia McKay (Win) took the win on her home course, 20:46, her time was 1:09 faster than runner-up Tazia Arabatzsis (McAuley) 21:55

 

 

SMAA: Deering, Marshwood, Kennebunk @Westbrook

Meet Results

Kennebunk's Chris Dunn took the win over 5k in 17:20 holding off a strong effort from Sean Perry (Deering) 17:27. Deering had a strong showing with a 18:16 average for runner 1-5 to win the meet

With Abbey Leonardi resting, teammate Laura Broderick got to cross the line first 21:04, runner-up Ella Ramonas (Der) was 50 seconds behind 21:54. Marshwood took the team win

 

 

 

 

 

 

MVC: H-D, St. Doms, Mad, Telstar @ Carrabec

Meet Results

National Elite Performances

 

Matt McClintock (Mad) blitzed the 5k in 15:38, the fastest time in the state this year. Josef Holt-Andrews (Tel) was the runner-up in 16:59, leading his team to the victory.

Allie McClintock (Mad) had the fastest time in the girls only race 21:36, but it should be noted that Dirigo's Natalie Bolduc missed the start of the girls race, so was allowed to run in the boys race where she clocked a fast 20:35. St. Dom's edged Madison 28-29 for the team win.

 

 

MVC: Mon, Lis, Win, Wis @ Boothbay

Meet Results

Boys and girls ran together as there was only one complete girls team.

Chase Brown shattered his own course record by nearly 30 seconds finishing in 17:09.  His old record was 17:46 and previous to that mark Wade Davis had the best time on the course with a 17:51 set back in 2007.

In regards to the team competition Winthrop was in complete control from start to finish.  There was some back-en-forth between Tom Brown and Mark Hachey for the third spot but Hachey got the better of Brown in the last half mile to claim the spot.  Other than that there was little movement and placement between the Winthrop and Boothbay teams.

In the girls race Sophia Thayer and Megan Thomas were running side by side at the mile.  At the 4000m mark Thayer was maybe fifteen feet ahead of Thomas, but over the last 1000m Thayer pulled away for the 40 second victory.

 

 

 

 

 

Presque Isle Invitational

Meet Results

 

Dan Curts (Ells) once again crossed the finish line first as he covered the 3.17 mile course in 17:15 with Presque Isle's Matt Eager finishing 2nd 17:36. #4 ranked Caribou rolled once against in the team competition.

 

Another invitational another win for Aleta Looker (Ells), Looker was pushed hard by Washburn's Carsyn Koch but held on for a 26 second victory. Aleeta clocked 20:21 while Kock's time was 20:47. #3 ranked MDI easily took the team victory. #2 John Bapst ran in the race but had several runners missing due to the ACT test.

 

 

 

Bucksport Invitational

Meet Results

Orono's Alex Bulteel took to win in 16:26 over the 3 mile course, he was pushed by runner-up Matt Guiod (Mattanawcook) 16:33. Bulteel led his squad to the team victory.

Nelly Winship (Bucksport) took the victory on her home course 21:25, while Rowan Wilson (Orono) was the runner-up 21:48. With 4 of the top finishers Orono dominated the team race.

 

 

 

 

 

KVAC: OH, Gar, Brw, Brun, Con, Mar, MB, Ban, MCI @ Lawrence

MT BLUE GIRLS/BANGOR BOYS BIG WINNERS AT LAWRENCE

Impressive showings by the Mt. Blue girls and Bangor boys highlighted a 10 team race at Lawrence today.  Mt. Blue placed 5 girls in the top 13 while Bangor had 5 boys in the top 10. In individual action Erzebet Nagy of Lawrence remained undefeated with a time of 19:36, while Jonathan Stanhope (Bangor) pulled away from a tight pack to win in 17:19. Read more...

 

 

 

KVAC: Ersk, Mor, Med, Lin, Ocean, CH @ Belfast

Meet Results

Ben Trapini (Camden Hills) nips Luis Mauser (Belfast) 17:54.45 to 17:55.46 in a very intense race. Medomak Valley pulls out the gteam victory 51-55 over Erskine Academy

Camden Hills dynamic duo Willow Parker & Brittany Bowman went 1-2 again, with Parker going sub 20 with her 19:56.37 while Bowman was 20:12.62. #8 ranked Camden Hills won the team race with just 21 points

 

 

KVAC: Hampden, Messalonskee, Winslow @ Waterville

Meet Results

Andrew Closson (Hampden) won a close one over Nick Shuckrow (Winslow) 18:33 to 18:35 over 5k. Closson's Hampden Academy squad easily won the team race.

Bethanie Brown (WTVL) won her first XC 5k clocking a fine 20:32 with Molly Schassberger (Winslow) finishing 2nd 22:01. Winslow took the team victory holding off Hampden 41-48 with Waterville 51 in 3rd.

 

 

KVAC: Mt A, Leav, Skow, EL @ Lewiston

Meet Results

For the 2nd staright week rivals EL & Lewiston sqaured off, and this time the results were different. Lewiston boys avenged a 1 point loss from a week ago as they took down #12 Mt. Ararat & EL 36-43-49 behind 4 runners in the top 9. Individually Andy Reifman-Packett (Mt. A) crossed the line first in 17:52, closely followed by EL's Justin Leclair 18:05

Lucy Knowlton (Leavitt) took first place as she covered the 5k course in 22:39 to hold off a strong effort from Kelly Lynch (Mt. A) 22:45. Mt. Ararat dominated the team race with 5 of the top 7 runners.
