2012-13 Indoor Track Event Previews: Pole Vault
Class A
Lindsay Folsom the 3x defending Clas A state champion is the heavy favorite to make it 4 in a row in 2013. Folsom vaulted a best of 11-0 last winter, her all-time best is 11-3 indoors. Lindsay also won the outdoor state title with a vault of 11-0. Bangor's Courtney Lizotte vaulted her way to a 5th place a year ago, outdoors she moved up to 4th. 6th place finisher from last winter Sophia Swiatek of Gorham is back as is 7th place finisher Calliey Ledue of Scarborough.
All returners who meet the state qualifying mark of 8-0

Class B
Six of the top 7 scorers including the top 5 from a year ago are back. Leading the way is defending state champion Kayla Marquis of Orono who jumped 9-9 to capture the crown last winter. Marquis also won the Class C title outdoors. Fryeburg's Jamie Gullikson was the indoor runner-up and repeated the feat outdoors. Georgia Bolduc of Waterville was 3rd last winter. Cape' s Hannah Newhall was 4th a year ago, while Erskine's Courtney Elliot placed 5th. Gabby Bridger of Waterville is the other returning scorer placing 7th last year. One to watch out for is Sarah Shoulta of Waterville who finished 8th indoors but jumped up to 3rd duirng the outdoor season.
