The postseason is officially here! The Northern and Southern Regional championships went off on Saturday. The North headed to Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast, while the South went to the Twinbrook Recreational area in Cumberland. Both regions produced close finishes and great individual performances. Let's take a look at the highlights.

The Maine Running Company Indoor Track Performance of the Week voting is complete for week #8. On the girls side it was Brewer senior Synclaire Tasker who was selected for her Class A leading triple jump of 35-10 1/2.  On the boys side Jake Dixon of Cheverus lowered his state leading 200m to to 22.96.

The Maine Running Company Indoor Performance of the Week voting is complete for week #5. On the girls side new state record holder in the 400m, Teal Jackson of  Brewer was selected as the winner for her outstanding 57.85 while the boys winners was new SMAA SR 400M record holder James Campbell of Cheverus who ran 51.70.

Lundquist & Haluska run to victories @ Cony Derek Veilleux Sep 24, 2010

Will Lundquist of Cony running for the final time on his home xc course, raced to the win. Lundquist clocked 5:36 pace over the 5k course, to win in 17:23. He was 25 seconds in front of runner-up Evan Piccirillo.  Alex Smith (Cony) rounded out the top 3, crossing the line in 18:01. Hampden Academy behind Piccirillo placed 4 runners in the top 7, to easily win the meet 31-44 over host Cony. On the girls side, Brewer's Michelle Haluska (Pictured left) stopped the clock first in 21:31, 24 seconds in front of runner-up Kylee Parker of Hampden, 21:55. Belfast junior Abbie Wessells rounded out the top 3, 22:14. The team race was very close wigt Brewer edging Hampden by just 3, 49-52. RESULTS

Hampden Academy KVAC XC meet recap Ryan McLaughlin Sep 19, 2008

The Brewer girls were dominant for the third time in as many weeks while the Hampden Academy boys showed they'll be a force to reckon with in the Eastern Maine Class A ranks this fall. The Bronco boys scored 33 points to win a four-team meet on their home course, while Brewer earned runner-up honors with 58. Bangor finished third with 69 and Waterville's 82 rounded out the field. The battle for the team title this fall is sure to be a fight with several of the top teams from last fall returning key members of their squads. Brewer returns their entire top 7. Mt. Blue returns 6 girls from a 3rd place team a year ago. Never count out two time defending champ, Brunswick either. Will someone dethrone Brunswick? Who will be this year Silver Hunt? Who will have a breakthrough season? Stay tuned.
