Week #4 Girls
Girls 5k
Kirstin Sandreuter the #1 ranked girl in the state of Maine still sits atop the list with her 18:46, this past weekend she ran a 18:59 at Manchester. Bonny Eagle senior Mary Szatkowski vaults up to the second spot after her 19:17 effort at Noble. Sophomore Kialeigh Marston ran right behind her teammate Szatkowski at Noble, clocking a personal best 19:21 to push her up to #3. Cheverus senior Kiera Murray drops back 2 spots to #4 but improved her best time of the season to 19:21 at Noble. Aleta Looker of Ellsworth fresh off a 3rd place finish at Manchester is at spot #5 with her 19:23. Also new to the list were Anne McKee, 19:31 & Teresa Murphy, 19:47
Girls 3mi
Aleta Looker of Ellsworth remains in the top spot with a speedy 18:10. York senior Heather Evans remains 2nd with a 19:40. Freshman Tia Hardy of Mattanawcook stays 3rd with her performance (19:52) at the Bucksport Invitational three weeks ago. Right behind her in 4th is Lily Koffman of Orono who ran 19:53 at Bucksport a step behind Tardy. Carsyn Koch was the only need addition to the top 5 as she ran a 19:55 at the Sectional XC meet.
Boys 5k
Big time changes in the top 5 this week. Josef Holt Andrews of Telstar still holds the top time with his 15:2, he ran a 15:27 at Manchester this weekend. Ellsworth senior Dan Curts is up to #2 after his near record run at Manchester, 15:23. Ryan Cadorette of Thornton Academy is in the #3 slot with his 15:53 effort. Up to #4 is Aaron Willingham of Mt Blue who ran a 15:54 at Brunswick, just off Will Geoghegan's course record. Yarmouth's Ben Decker round out the top 5 after his 16:07 effort at Manchester. Also new to the list are Liam Simpson (16:13) & Braden Becker (16:21), along with Josh Horne (16:24)
Boys 3mi
There were no additions to the top 15 this week. Ellsworth's Dan Curts got off to a fast start in 2013 as he clocked a personal best 15:43 on his home course at the Ellsworth Invitational. Will Shafer (GNG) had a duel with Braden Becker (Yarmouth) at York as the two both ran under 16 minutes, with Shafer getting the win in 15:54, Becker was 4 seconds back at 15:58. Cape's Liam SImpson opened up with an easy win on his home course as he clocked a 28 second personal best. Bangor's Jonathan Stanhope also opened with a win on his home course, Stanhope clocked 16:08 to hold off a strong effort by Caleb Lord of Hampden Academy.
