Week #5 Girls

A new Bonny Eagle Scot is at the head of the girls 5k list as Mary Szatkowski jumped to lead with her 18:35 clocking on her home course at BE. Teammate Kialeigh Marston of Bonny Eagle who ran away with the win at FOC with a 18:42 ranks #2. Kirstin Sandreuter drops back one spot to #3 with her opening season 18:46. South Portland senior Shannon Conley was the runner-up at FOC, her 18:59 effort ranks her 4th in the state. Rounding out the top 5 is sophomore Anne Mckee of Kent's Hill who finished a blink of an eye behind Conley at FOC.

Cheverus senior Kiera Murray is the new 3 mile leader after her personal best 18:28 effort at Gorham last Friday. Massabesic's Angel Waters moves up to the #2 spot after her 19:05 effort at Gorham. She is followed by her teammate Emily Wasina who ranks #3 with a 19:24. Next is Abby Runnells of Thornton Academy along with Kaitlyn Dostie of Cheverus who both ran 19:29 at Gorham.

No changes to the top 15 this week. Josef Holt Andrews of Telstar lowered his state leading 5k down to 15:06.92 after his win at FOC. The mark has him ranked #21 in the Saucony Elite 50 national rankings. Ellsworth senior Dan Curts had to drop out of FOC, but his 15:23 from Manchester has him ranked #2. Mt. Blue's Aaron Willingham showed he the favorite to win the Class A title as he ripped a personal best 15:42 to finish 2nd at FOC, his mark ranks him 3rd. Ryan Cadorette of Thornton Academy slips back to #4 slot with his 15:53 effort. Mt. Blue Josh Horne debuts in the top 5 after his 3rd place 15:54 performance at FOC.

Ellsworth's Dan Curts got off to a fast start in 2013 as he clocked a personal best 15:43 on his home course at the Ellsworth Invitational. New to the rankings in the #2 spot is Ryan Cadorette of TA, who ripped a 15:50 at Gorham on Friday. Will Shafer (GNG) is ranked #3 with a15:54. Gorham's Jesse Southard debuts in the list at #4 with his 15:56 effort on his home course. Yarmouth's Braden Becker rounds out the top 5 with his 15:58 from earlier in the year.
