  • Festival of Champions 34th Place (20:01.89)
  • New England Championship 69th place (19:29.64)

Huggett had an excellent sophomore campaign that saw her finish sixth in the Class B state meet. Lucy went on to run her fastest 5k at the New England Championship where she clocked 19:29.64 to finish 69th. On the track this spring Huggett placed fourth in the 1600m (5:10.50) and was fifth in the 3200m (11:39.21) at the Class B state meet both times were personal best. Lucy is primed to continue to improve this fall as she has the talent to be one of the best in the state.


Getting to Know Lucy

How has your summer training gone? Approximately how many miles have you logged?

I try to hover around 30 miles a week with a workout and long run each week.

What are you looking forward to during the 2024 XC season?

I am looking forward to the Southern Maine Classic race because the course is super fun!! I'm also really excited to run with my teammates this fall, they are all such awesome runners!

What are your goals for the season?

My goal is to help my team place well at states and regionals. My individual goals are to place better than last year as well as break 19mins.

Biggest takeaway from the 2023 XC Season?

Don't start out too fast because it will hurt you at the end!

What's the best piece of advice you've gained from your coaches?

Too know my limits during workouts. Also knowing that not every day I will feel 100% and that's ok.

Favorite XC Course?

Twin brook for strategy and Southern Maine classic because it's so flat.

What was your favorite moment from the Olympics?

4x100m women's relay, USA was flying!!
