2024 Outlook

With all seven runners from a third-place state meet team back the Portland Bulldogs enter the season as the top team in the state. Starting the season the Bulldogs are dealing with a couple of injuries most notably the defending individual champion Samantha Moore who is recovering from a foot injury. Assuming everyone returns to full strength the Bulldogs have all the pieces to win the first team title in school history.

Coach Frank Myatt Comments:

We had a good turnout for our summer practices for both teams, and I was especially impressed with the number of incoming freshmen who were able to get a jump-start on their training. We return everyone from last year's team, so we won't be sneaking up on anyone this season. I'm especially happy with the increase in roster size this year, and that will help us build depth in both the short and long term. If we can progress throughout the season and run well in the big meets, we can compete with anybody.
