2024 Outlook

The Red Storm return six of the top seven from last year's Class A runner-up squad. This fall they bring experience and quality led by senior Ethan Keller who expects to contend for the individual title. Scarborough has four returners back who ran under 17 minutes last fall. The Red Storm showed they have what it takes to run with the best as they won the Southern Maine Classic this past weekend. Come November they will be ready to push the Class A state title that eluded them by just 10 points.

Coach Jim Harmon Comments:

Summer training went well. The majority of our runners were consistent and are in great shape to start the competitive season. As far as our expectations, on paper, we seem to be one of the top teams in the state, but we know we have to put in a lot of good training and avoid injuries and illnesses if we're going to have a chance at the state title. We should certainly be a contender, but as everyone knows, anything can happen so we have to stay diligent. As far as newcomers, we have a good number of new freshmen runners so our future looks good, but I think our success this year will be determined by our returning athletes.
