2024 Outlook

Hampden Academy returns four runners from a squad that was fourth in Class A last fall. Look for senior Tim Collins and junior Asher Valentine to be the leaders for the Broncos. While HA will be missing a few key pieces from a year ago they had a strong summer and expect some of the younger guys to be ready to contribute. The Broncos have been one of the top programs over the last five years and expect that to continue this fall. They opened the season with a close one against Camden Hills showing they are ready to compete for KVAC, Regional, and State titles this fall.

Coach Danielle Johnson Comments:

The boys' team has been putting in a lot of solid base miles as well as some hill and speed work to improve the middle mile of races. The HA boys will have a spirited season. We had some past top runners who will not be on the team this fall, which has been difficult for the boy's team, but we have had some other underclassmen who have stepped up in their training that will fill some missing spots. The boys expect to work together as a team and place high in late October in championship season. Look for Joel Brinz and Jack Scott who were strong runners for us last fall, to really step up and run faster times now that they have had a year under their belts to develop into stronger athletes.
