2012-13 Indoor Track Event Previews: 2 Mile
Class A
Just 3 scorers from a year ago are back led by Lewiston senior Mohamed Barre who wa sthe state runner-up last winter. Barre returns with a 9:55 personal besy indoors to his name, outdoors Barre finished 3rd in the 3200m. During the XC season Mohamed finished 7th overall. Scarborough Jack Sullivan finished 5th while teammate Robby Hall was 6th a year ago. Sullivan was on his way to a 2nd place finish a year ago but miscounted the laps and went one lap to soon. Hall ha the 3rd fastest returning time in the fiield, he missed most of the outdoor year with mono, but came back strong this fall with a runner-up finish in XC. Watch out for Jonathan Stanhope of Bangor who had the fastest time of any returners last winter 9:54.64.

Class B
Ellsworth's Dan Curts finished 2nd a year ago to Matt McClintock, he returns with the fastest time in the field of 9:28, which is 38 seconds faster than the next best performance in 2012. Curts also was the runne-rup in the 3200m by the narrowest of margins, and he had a great fall that saw him win the Class B XC title. Yarmouth's Ben Decker was 3rd last winter, and had another strong run outdoors where he finshed 4th. Camden Hills Ben Trapani ran to a 6th place finish a year ago, he was much improved during the XC season that saw him finish 3rd overall. The other returning scorer is Chris Cote of Waterville, who nabbed 7th as a freshman. WHile Cote didn't place outdoor his time improved to 10:14 for 3200m, he went on to a 19th place finish this fall in the XC state meet.
