CAMDEN HILLS GIRLS/MARANACOOK BOYS TOPS IN KVAC B Brian Kelly Oct 16, 2011

 

The Camden Hills girls took 3 of the first 5 places in roaring to a 40 point win in KVAC Class B cross-country action today.  Waterville edged Winslow 77-81 to take second place.
   For the B boys, Maranacook placed all of their top 5 in the first 20 spots for a comfortable win.  Places 2-4 were taken by Medomak Valley, Lincoln Academy and Waterville.  A single point separated each team.
   Waterville's Bethanie Brown captured the girls title followed by the Camden Hills duo of Brittany Bowman and Willow Parker.  On the boys side, Winslow's Nickolas Shuckrow took home the individual title followed by Maranacook's Kelby Mace and Ben Trapani of Camden Hills.

   The Mt. Ararat boys and girls cross country teams both took first place in a meet at Brunswick on Thursday. Teresa Murphy of Brunswick was the girls winner with a sub 21 performance, while Mt. Ararat's Andy Reifman-Packett took the boys race in 16:55. To read more...

KVAC @ LEAVITT  In the girls meet, Mt. Blue earned a 20 point win over Leavitt with Maranacook two points back of them.  Maranacook's Abby Mace ran away from the pack with only Mt. Blue's Addie Cullenberg close through the first mile.  Mace then pulled away to win in 19:59. On the boys side, Maranacook squeaked out a two point win over Mt. Blue.  Mt. MT BLUE GIRLS/BANGOR BOYS BIG WINNERS AT LAWRENCE Brian Kelly Sep 09, 2011

Impressive showings by the Mt. Blue girls and Bangor boys highlighted a 10 team race at Lawrence today.  Mt. Blue placed 5 girls in the top 13 while Bangor had 5 boys in the top 10.

In individual action Erzebet Nagy of Lawrence remained undefeated with a time of 19:36, while Jonathan Stanhope (Bangor) pulled away from a tight pack to win in 17:19. Read more...

MT BLUE BOYS AND GIRLS WIN HOME MEET Brian Kelly Sep 03, 2010


   Placing five runners in the top ten in each race, the Mt. Blue boys and girls earned convincing victories in a home meet versus Messalonskee, Lawrence, MCI and Boothbay.
   In the boys race, Harlow Ladd of Messalonskee showed he stacks up well with one of the big guns from last years outstanding senior class, finishing in 17:21, just 10 seconds off the course record set last year by Kelton Cullenberg on the extremely hilly 5K course.
   Class C standout Chase Brown stayed with Ladd through nearly two miles finishing in 18:01.  Jaron and Jonah Jones lead Mt. Blue capturing spots three and four.  Brody Hines (6th), Justin Tracy (8th) and Sully Jackson (10th) clinched the victory for the Cougars.  Other top 10 finishers were Boothbay's Nate Schwehm (5th), Lawrence's Jimmy Pershken (7th) and Cameron Dick of Messalonskee (9th).
   In the girls race, Addie Cullenberg and Gwen Beacham of Mt. Blue and Meaghan Collier of Messalonskee pulled out in fron early in a tight pack.  Cullenberg took control in the 2nd mile, finishing in 21:47, just two seconds off the course record set by Melody Lam last fall.  Collier took 2nd with Beacham placing third.  Rebecca Luce of Messalonskee place 4th, followed by Mt. Blue's duo of Emily Reed and Louisa Stancioff.  Sophia Thayer (Boothbay), Liz Young (Messalonskee), Samara Garcia (Lawrence) and Eliza Richard (Mt.
