Bronte Elias-Freshman Girls winner Interview
Abbey Leonardi & Matt McClintock repeated at the 10th annual Festival of Champions @ Belfast today in some tough conditiond. Leonardi clocked 18:16 to win the girls seeded race, while McClintock took the boys race in 16:08. Falmouth boys used a strong pack to take the boys team title, while MDI showed it'll be the team to beat in Class B the rest of the year as they dominated the girls team competition.
When cross country runners see October on their calendar, they all circle the last three Saturdays of the month. The season's biggest meet to date The Maine Festival of Champions (FOC) will be held on Saturday @ the Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast. This is the 10th edition of the meet, with 60 teams scheduled to compete this is where most of the state's runners will be this weekend. There are teams from Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Nova Scotia competing as well.
