Scouting Reports Falmouth boys Derek Veilleux Sep 15, 2014

Last season was one with a lot of ups and down for the Yachstmen, they finished seocnd in the Western Maine Regional before having several varsity runners suspended for breaking school rules the next week which left Falmouth short handed for the Class A state meet, despite this they finished a respectable 4th.

The Capers are coming off back to back Class B state titles, and enter 2014 looking to add a third in a row to the trophy case. Last fall Cape Elizabeth stood tall to an outstanding effort by Ellsworth to add the 10th state title in school history to move the program the #1 in all-time Class B state championships on the boys side. Graduation hit Cape hard with 5 of the top 7 from a year ago gone, so they have an uphill battle to title #11.

Scouting Reports Massabesic girls Derek Veilleux Sep 12, 2014

Massabesic has established itself as one of the finest xc porgrams in the state over the last 7 years. During that time the Mustangs have finished as the Class A runner-up three times, finished in third place 3 other times, and then of course you have the 4th place finish from the 2007 state meet, where they seemingly had the school's first state title but because twp of their runners crossed the line holding hands they were DQ'd.

Scouting Reports Cape Elizabeth girls Derek Veilleux Sep 04, 2014

I think we have the talent to do extremely well this season.  The girls need to stay focused and motivated for the next 10 weeks or so, and if they can do that I think we have a real shot to bring home some hardware this season.

Scouting Reports Merriconeag Boys Derek Veilleux Sep 02, 2014

The Merriconeag boys' team did fairly well last season- we were runners-up at the Western Maine Class C Regional, which is the most successful team finish in the school's (short) history.  However, we do still have a very small team (only ten individuals, close to half the eligible boys in the entire school), and last year's state meet made clear how challenged we can be by the sudden onset of illness.

Scouting Reports Westbrook girls Derek Veilleux Sep 01, 2014

Westbrook was once a powerhouse program in the late 80's and early 90's when the Blue Blazes won 10 states titles from 1983-1996The program hasn't been able to get back to that level in fact the last time they made the state meet was 1998. Westbrook finished 12th in the Western Maine Regional a season, this was a vast improvement over the previous 5 season where they didn't even enough runners to compete as a team at the regional meet.
