2012 XC Top Returners Statewide #15
Ryan Washington (Jr. Caribou) Washington ran to a 14th place finish last fall, helping his team to a 3rd place finish in the Class B state meet. What makes the 14th place finish more impressive was that he finished only 20th in the Eastern Maine Regional the week before. During his freshman year he was a key contributor on the state championship team. Ryan finished 33rd his freshman year and vaulted 14th last fall. Is a top 10 finish within his grasp this fall? Washington was a member of Caribou's state runner nordic ski team this winter.

Gabby Johnson (So. Massabesic) Johnson had a strong freshman season that saw her finish 10th in the Class A state meet. Gabby was the top runner on the Massabesic team that finished 3rd overall, just one point out of the runner-up spot. She went on the finish 51st in the New England Championship meet running her fastest time of the season 19:40. On the track Gabby placed 9th in the 2 Mile at the indoor Class A state meet running 12:13.69, outdoor she finished one spot of the podium with an 8th place finish in the 3200m (11:46.05). With Massabesic looking like one of the top girls team this fall, Johnson could play a key role in the Mustangs success as she looks to improve on her first year campaign.
