2012-13 Indoor Track Event Previews: Mile
Class A
Mohamed Barre of Lewiston is the top state meet returner from 2012, Barre finished 3rd last winter. He followed that up with a 4th place outdoor in the 1600m. The fastest mile by a returner last winter was the 4:28.91 by Robert Hall of Scarborough, he finished 4th last winter. Hall missed significant time outdoors due to mono but got back on track during xc where he was the Class A runner-up. The other state meet scorer that is back is Bangor junior Jonathan Stanhope who was 7th a year ago, and has the #2 returning time of 4:29.54. Watch out for Mt. Blue's Justin Tracy who had a breakout spring that saw him finished 3rd with a 4:26.24. Brunswick's Jamie Ross is also one to watch, he was 7th outdoors.

Greely's Liam Campbell placed 2nd a year ago, and leads the returners that competed in the event at the state meet. Campbell also finished 3rd in the outdoor 1600m. Ellsworth's Dan Curts has the fastest returning time 4:27.79 of the returners, and most likely will run the event at the state meet this winter. Dan clocked a 4:24 for 1600m last spring. York's Kyle Morrison is the only other returner scorer, Morrison placed 6th last winter and then moved up to 4th outdoors.
