2012-13 Indoor Track Event Previews: 55m Dash
Class A
5 of the top 7 scorers from 2012 are back this winter. Headlining the group is Noble's Ethan Beaulier who won the state title last year with a personal best 6.61 clocking. Beaulier was just .01 from the state meet record last year, no doubt that is an attainable goal in 2013. Cheverus senior Jackson McMann was 4th a year ago, while Cony's Luke Dang finished 5th and returns with the 2nd best time of 6.75, Ryan Jamison of Scarborough was 6th last year and Lewiston Nasir Abdirahman 7th a year ago rounds out the returning scorers. Keep an eye on Thornton Academy's Andrew Smith he ran very well as a freshman.

Class B
Well's Denzel Tomaszewski had a special season in 2012 as he won the indoor state title in a personal best 6.58, the mark also broke the state meet record of former Wells sprint star Justin Vigeant. The all-time state mark of 6.55 is on the radar for Tomaszewski this winter as well as repeating as the state champ. He also won the 100m dash title outdoors last spring. Falmouth's Jacob Buhelt finished 4th last winter, and returns with a personal best of 6.82. Buhelt went on to finish 3rd in the outdoor 100m. Foxcroft Academy's Ryan Wang is the other returner scorer from 2012, a year ago he placed 6.94 to finish 6th.
