In a final minute surge the Bonny Eagle girls 4x800 (Kristen Glennie, Lexie Vayda, Mary Szatkowski & Kyuanna Libby) were selected as the top performance of the week. The Scots won the SMAA title last weekend as they clocked the fastest time in the state 10:04.85. Impressive time considering Bonny Eagle opted not to run 2 other top 800m runners. The Scots are the favorite to win the event at the Class A state meet.
On the boys side Orono's David Frederick was selected as the winner this week for his state leading 14-1 in the pole vault. The mark was a new school record, as well as EMITL record in the event, as he edged 1 inch past the old record held by for Red Riot James Berry. What makes the mark even more impressive that Frederick did late on Saturday night a little past 11pm, guess he's a night owl. David will be one of the favorites to win the Class B title.
Congratulations to both Bonny Eagle girls 4x800 & David on being selected as the Maine Running Company Performance of the Week
