Lindsay Folsom of Cony HS has been the best pole vaulter in the state for 4 years running, this past week she had her best vault of her career with a personal record 11-4 clearance at the KVAC meet at Bowdoin College. Currently Folsom's vault has her just under 2ft better than the next best vaulter in Maine this winter. Nationally the 11-4 vault ranks her 17th in the country. The voting was very close this week with Folsom edging out Bangor's Grace MacLean 16 votes to 14 votes.
On the boys side Wells senior Denzel Tomaszewski opened his season in record breaking fashion as he first broke the USM Relays record in the 55m in the trials with a 6.59, then in the finals Tomaszewski showed he's ready for a huge year with a 6.53. The time broke the Maine all-time best in the event of 6.55 held by former Edward Little star Colby Brooks. Denzel who won the Class B 55m title a year ago is the heavy favorite to repeat, how much faster can he go?
Congratulations to both Lindsay & Denzel on being selected as the Maine Running Company Performance of the Week
