Matt McClintock (Madison pictured left) showed he’s the best runner in the State of Maine for 2010, as he cruised to his 2nd straight Class C title, running the fastest time of the day 16:00.91. Chase Brown (Boothbay) had the 3rd fastest time on the day with his 16:14. North Yarmouth Academy the WM Regional champ, was clearly the best team today. The Panthers scored 60 points, 39 better than runner-up Freeport. On the girls side of things freshman Carsyn Koch ( Washburn) buried the field when she was her across the line in 19:36.5, her winning time was 1:12 better than the runner-up Martha Veroneau (Waynflete). Merriconeag-Waldorf reversed the tables on Waynflete in the girls team race, Merriconeag was 2nd last weekend at the WM Reg, but had enough today to earn the state title with a 46-52 win over the defending Class C champions.
