NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – University of Southern Maine senior Briar Beede (Augusta, Maine) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Co-Runner of the Week this afternoon. Beede shared the weekly honor with Babson College junior Mark Gulesian (Miami, Fla.). Less than 24 hours earlier, Beede was selected as the Little East Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Beede won his first collegiate race this past weekend to lead the Huskies to victory at the Husson Harrier Classic. The senior from Augusta, Maine covered the 8,000-meter Saxl Park (Bangor, Maine) course in a time of 28 minutes, eight seconds. A week earlier, he placed second at the Southern Maine Alumni Meet with a time of 16 minutes.
